The PanOptix Lens

The latest technology in eye lenses now allows cataract patients to have great vision at a full range of distances after they recover from their surgery. While most traditional lenses for cataract patients are monofocal or bifocal, meaning they provide vision at only one or two distances, the PanOptix lens is a trifocal lens design to offer great vision for nearby vision, intermediate distance, and far distances. PanOptix lenses are a technological leap from traditional lenses which often leaves patients needing glasses for certain distances. PanOptix gives patients the opportunity and chance to gain quality vision across a range of distances. While there is still a chance that cataract patients will need glasses, the technology behind the PanOptix lens offers the greatest benefit to the patient.

PanOptix is the first and only trifocal lens in the United States, and it is helping our patients gain clear vision after their cataract surgery. It allows our patients to see up close while reading a book, see clearly at arm’s length to use their computer, or far away to spot a familiar face or drive a car. Having the latest technology allows our board-certified surgeon to both heal and restore our cataract patients’ vison and to give them even better vision than they had before.

While 9 out of 10 Americans will develop cataracts by the age of 65, there is no need to be worried. Fortunately, cataract surgery is one of the safest and most common eye surgeries performed today. Patients can regain their vision and see better than before, even if they had a stigmatism. The PanOptix® Toric Lens can address stigmatism at the same time as providing multifocal vison to potentially provide an outstanding range of sight from near to far without blurry zones, so you can focus without straining and reduce your dependency on glasses or contact lenses.
